How will getting a green card through the lottery affect the I-730 form for the derivative spouse

I was approved for asylum in 2024. A couple of months later, I applied for a green card (filled out form i-485). I also filled out form i-730 so that my wife could also be granted status. My wife entered as a tourist and applied for asylum before the end of the term (she has a separate case) and she is still waiting for an interview.

A couple of months later, in May 2024, I found out that I also won the lottery, so we decided to simultaneously apply for i-485 to change status through the lottery, and soon we will have an interview.

I have a question: If I am approved for a green card through the lottery, but she is denied (since she is probably out of status, although she applied for asylum while she was in status), then what will happen to form i-730? Will she still be able to get status?

P.S. We both in US.

Thanks

Hey @newacct

Just got back from the interview. Overall, the entire interview took about 20-30 minutes. The questions were the simplest ones from the I-485 form and they asked a couple of questions about my status - I said that I received approval for asylum last year and had already submitted the I-485 form on the basis of asylum. The officer said that most likely there would be a denied because I had been out of status for some time.

After the interview, the status changed to "Interview Was Completed And My Case Must Be Reviewed". I think a letter with the reasons for denied will arrive soon...

P.S. Just a reminder that this was an interview based on the DV lottery.
