Hi,

I got my AP from San Diego office, I only have 2 copies, one woth photo, one without (even though the cover letter says that I got one original and 2 photocopies). How should I use these documents on travel?

1. when I left US, do I need to surrender the I-94?
2. when I left US, do I need to show/surrender to the officer at airport my AP?
3. when I re-enter US at the airport, do I get a new I-94?
4. when I re-enter US at the airport, do I need to surrender one copy of AP? if yes, should I surrender the copy with photo, or the one without the photo?
5. do I need to bring with me I-485 receipt and/or EAD?

Thanks

when you leave us you just have to surrender I94. make some photo copies of both the pages and carry your EAD and 485 receipt along with you. While comming back present your originals to immigration officer , if you are comming at LAX go to counter 1 or 2 they will verify your parole and ou will be allowed and they will return you the parole with stamp on it. IF comming at other airport immigration officer will send you to secondry inspection and there they will verify and stamp the passport and parole and let you in the country.

Yes.

No. Nobody has to know you will be returning (leave alone you will be returning with AP).

3. when I re-enter US at the airport, do I get a new I-94?

Yes.

You have to show the copy of AP with photo. The immigration officer will stamp it and return it to you.

Not necessary. But it is good to have them with you.

You will receive the empty I94 on the flight from the air hostess. You will have to fill it. Unless all family members travelling with you are on the same visa status you will have to file I94 for all of them.

The decision to keep/give you back your AP depends upon whether you have received a single entry or multiple entry AP. If it is multiple entry, the IIO will just stamp the AP and your I94 and give it back to you. Else he will keep it. Sometimes for the heck of it they keep AP's, either ways it doesn't matter since you should have received multiple copies of the AP!
