hi
my husband worked here in ny on a l1 visum. this will expire this spring. i was here on a l2 visum. we have 2 little sons 4+1.5 years.
we are originally from europe. my husband got a extended vacation after end of the assignment and we would love to travel through usa after he finishes his job.
but how to do it?
as the visa expires we will have to exit usa and re- enter as turists? is it enough to travel to i.e mexico and canada and back? would like to avoid long flight with jet lag with 2 little kids. or can we apply for change of status from l1/l2 to turists? we want to travel for up to 3 months
how is it with our bank account? will this be cancelled as soon as we cancel the lease of our house?
what about our car? how to drive it? drivers license will expire with date of job expiry i think. we both have a valid drivers license from europe and are also ok with paying additional premium for insurance. but how does it work with the plates? and registration of the car?
it is getting real complicated to want to enjoy vacations here....
can we get local health insurance for limited time as turists before starting coverage in europe? we fall out of our scheme here....
something else i have to think of?
thank you so much
