How to trasfer a old EB3 PD to a new EB2 application?

I just learned that my EB3 LC was approved by PBEC. My PD of this EB3 LC is May 2004.

However, My company has already started the process of filing a EB2 LC through PERM. I heard that once this EB2 LC is approved, I can use the PD of my old EB3 LC to apply for another I-140 under EB2. Is that correct?

If this is true, how does this work? Is there any trap I should be aware of? Thanks.

I am also in the same situation as you. But my EB2 LC is not thru PERM, even that is waiting on BPC.
