How to report child born after N400 application?

I need to know how should I report the birth of my child who was born after I had submitted my N400 application but before interview. Should I request the immigration officer to update information at the time of interview or do I need to submit separate form for this?

My daughter was born abroad and is still outside US.

Any one with similar experience.

Thanks

Your daughter was born before you get your US citizenship and you can't do nothing at this stage. You will need to petion her (Use form I-130) once you become US citizen. Then your daughter will come in US and obtain her Green card.

When you go to the interview inform the Officer of your child's birth. That information should under part 9, Table B. Once you become a Citizen you can file an I-130 for your child. Because your child will be under 18 when she gets here, you can apply for a U.S. Passport and/or a certificate of citizenship for the child.

Yes, once the child gets the GC, she's get automatic citizenship. You simply have to apply for a U.S. Passport and/or certificate of citizenship for the child. In any case, your child will not have to go through the long process that you went through.

Good Luck,
