How to remove lawyer from representing me?

...I don't know if this is the correct way to ask this question, but I'm really confused.

I filed my GC application using a lawyer. My 485 (primary) was approved and the wife is caught by the retrogression. But we've paid all of our dues to the lawyer and don't have anything to do with them anymore. We even filed our AP's & EAD's by ourselves, not through the lawyer. But strangely, the USCIS local office (case transferred) continues to send AP and EAD related documents to the lawyer's address, even though we didn't mention a single word about them on our AP & EAD applications. How could this be?

Since the lawyer isn't gonna get any money from me after my 485 approval, they don't have any incentive to notify us in time about the AP & EAD correspondences. I figured the lawyer must filed some form with our original GC application and that document is probably keeping them in the loop right now. If that's the case, how do I replace them? Especially after our cases were transferred to local office? At this stage of our journey, I believe all of the major documents (AP, EAD card, interview notice, physical green card, etc.) will go directly to the petitioner, not the lawyer, so is there still a valid reason that I should keep them?

Any input is welcomed. Thanks in advance!

G28 is the form used to denote who is representing your case. I think you should be able to file a new one for yourself.
