how to obtain duplicate I-797A(original lost)

I got my H1 extension in Apr'05 and received I-797A (with I-94)..however for my wife I received I-797C only. While contacting lawyer, he did sent the I-797A for my wife; I never received it..might be lost during mail. My lawyer does have the copy of I-797A for my wife. I checked the USCIS website and it indicates that Case was approved.

How to obtain a duplicate I-797A for my wife?
How long it would take? is there any other alternative (faster) way to obtain duplicate I-797A?

I am planning for stamping(multiple entry) in Canada in Sep'06; We have to go to Canada before Oct'06 because our Canadian PR visa expires in OCt'06. Is it advisable to go for stamping with a copy of my wife's I-797A? is there any other alternative, if you don't have original I-797A?

Your help would relieve my stress a lot..

Get a notrized copy of I-797A which your lawyer might able to issue if S/he is notary. Call Canada consulate and inform them about missing I-797 and notrized copy of I-797A.

lost original 1-797A

I have the same question of "how to obtain duplicate original I-797A form". I just lost my original one. Could I contact U.S department of homeland security for help?
