How to link an approved 140 to a recent 485

My previous I-140, in the category of National Interest Waiver was approved yesterday by Vermont center. This I-140 was submitted by myself two and half years ago to Nebraska Center (RD: 12/30/2002) and was transferred to Vermont Center one year ago. As you know, the next step for this is to submit I-485s for adjusting my status. I am wondering if it is possible to link this approval to the recent I-485s I submitted with the Outstanding Research Case I prepared three months ago (concurrent filing, I really lost patient to the first one so I sumbitted another petition) so I do not have to submit separate I-485s I-765s and I-131s once more? If it is possible to do link them, what should I do?

You can do so. Prepare following documents:

1. Copy of receipt of 140.(approved one)
2. Copy of approval notice of 140.
3. Copy of 485 receipt.
4. Application stating that you would like to get your 140 substituted.
5. Copy of Pearson memo(dated May 09,2000), which allows you to substitute 140.
6. Write on top of envelope Interfiling/Substitution of I-140 of pending 485 case..
7. Send all the above mentioned documents to your service center.

Wait 2-4 weeks. Call service center to find out if they have recd it or not!

jharkandi,

do u by chance have that memo? i wanted to the same thing like xzhu2 but of different reasons. mine is more complicated as my previous I-140/I-485 was denied due to ability to pay. we've filed for appeal and re-filed I-140/I-485. the re-filed I-140 got approved after 42 days of submission. so now i'm not sure if i can substitue my approved I-140 to the appealed I-1485. in any case, having that pearson memo would be a great help.
