Hi all,

I had my stamping at calcutta consulate on the 24th of jan 2005 along with a firend. Both were told to reappear in chennai (we are from chennai) and continue the process.

Now i have got a new date -may 3rd 2005- and i want to put in waitlist appointment.

if i select date (may be 1st week of march) and i didnot get that date is it that my waitlist chance is cancelled? How is the process ? coz they are asking to select only one preferable date .

For chennai candidates is there another option of booking for appointment other than this online thing?

any help greatly appreciated.

Your original appt date is not cancelled until your request for waitlist is accepted.
Your request for Mar 1 will be accepted based on availability - They should have asked you to fax the 1st and last page of your Passport.
Unless you accept the new appt date(if they give you one), the original appt date is not cancelled.

Check this email that I had mailed to hennai consulate ...maybe it is useful for you !
Try emailing ! It takes 3 days for them to reply back.
Good luck Arun

Thank you for your interest in an emergency appointment for a visa interview at the U.S. Consulate General, Chennai. The reason the traveler is unable to wait for his scheduled visa interview.

The reason the traveler was unable to plan the travel further in advance.

Subject: Question !

Respected Sir/Madam,

Question 1)

Subject: web appointment

As you must be aware that the appointments in Chennai, Delhi and Calcutta are taken for next few months until April 2005.

I am just curious or wondering if someone like me who is H1B visa in US needs to go Chennai / India due to emergency rather than

a planned visit but also requires a visa / web appointment to come back to US.

In such case if we prove the case can we get an earlier appointment or do we have to wait for 3 months?

Question 2)

During the interview if the counselor asks for more documents for evidence can I get an earlier appointment date or do I have to go thru the ttk service?

Thanks for your time,

Regards,

Arun Ramanathan
