How to get paid on H4

hello,
I am on H4 Dependent visa. I was volunteering for an non profit organisation and they are willing to hire and pay me now. My question is how can i get paid on H4? Can i accept cheque? How can they account for it.

It is illegal to accept employment under H4. You will need to change status to H1 for that.
 
Can I apply for H1 while on expecting H4

Hi all,


My question is can I apply for H1 while i am expecting a H4. Actually, my wife's H1 is under process and the same time i have submitted my docs for h4. But my wifes H1's start date is Jan'04 as she is PT period now.

Now i am positive of getting H1 but i have submitted my papers and they said my h4's start date also same as my wife's H1 That is Jan 04.


Any any body suggest me that can i go ahead for H1 even though I have just applied fo rH4.

One more question is While on H4, can I apply for H1, no matter of time, I mean how long you are H4.

My H4 start date is Jan 04 and do I need to be on same status for 6 months to change to other.

If some body comes forward to issue me H1 right now(Jul 03), does it affect in any way. As my application for h4 is on its way but start date is JAN 04.

In that situation Can I go ahead with the H1
