I am currently on H1B which expires on April 15. Our 140 is approved and we filed for 485/EAD/AP with RD on Dec30, 2004. I recvd an RFE on March 5. My lawyer sent the requested color copies of passport on Mar 10.
Since the date of my H1B expiry is near and i still havent herad anything about the EAD, I am wondering whether I should ask my lawyer to apply for a H1B renewal. Or should I just go down to the local INS office (Portland) and get an interim EAD after March 30.?
Whats the procedure for getting interim EAD? Do I need to take an appointment in advance? How much in advance? Where do I call?
