I called 800 375 5283 (the automated answering machine) but never got a chance to talk to a person, wondeing if any one knows how to get hold of an USCIS agent to have answered immigration questions? Is there another toll free or toll number to talk to an USCIS agent? Any help will be appreciated.

Keep following the key input until you get to "change address" and you will speak to a Costumer Service rep... they may be able to transfer you to an actual Immigration Officer because otherwise they can not answer your questions, they can only read from a script or point you to an immigration form.

What exactly do you need? USCIS officers do not just answer ramdon questions that you may have, that is not their job... really! if you have questions, you may hire a lawyer or post in a free forum (like this) or both.

Thanks for your response. here are my questions (already posted in this forum, waiting for someone to reply).
"USCIS rec'd my I-130 (for Mom, who is here on visitor visa) on Sept 15th, waiting for approval. When can I expect the I-130 approval notice? I did not file I-485 along with I-130 because I did not have documents at that time. Mom needs to visit India in February next year. Current I-94 expires on Dec-12th. Can I apply for Advance Parole before I-485 is filed? Or should I file I-485 and Advance Parole (I-131) together w/o waiting for I-130 approval, can it be done? How long does a typical I-131 Advance Parole approval process take (for Seattle Area Applicants)?"
