Hi,

I was born in 1966, in a House, in the village, and my birth was not registered with any of the Hospitals/Govt. Registration offices/Municipal offices/Corporate offices. Now i need BC for my GC Process. can any one of you assist me, how can i get the BC, what are the various ways to get it. I saw some of the postings here and unable to conclude on how to proceed. one of the ways is thru : NAC (Non availability certificate), Affidavits ... i guess. But can you guys please elaborate on this issue and let me know the specific details of how to get BC..

Thanks,

Born in India

I was also born in a village in India. I also did not have any records of birth in any hospital or any government office. I got the an affidavit on a government stamp paper, stamped, notarized by local court. My lawyer told me that the affidavit will be acceptable by the visa officers.

The sample of the affidavit is issued by INS for use by citizens of India. I am attaching the sample of the affidavit below.

Birth not being registered holds true for most people born before 1975.

A work around for this problem is the combination of Non availability certificate and affidavits of birth from parents or close relatives.

In a thread called 'Sample Form' I have earlier posted the non-availability certificate that I got for myself. Now I have added a copy of affidavit of birth I got from my mother.

Take a look and use it if you feel it meets your requirement.
