How to get 140 Approved Recepit

My employer imformed me that my 140 has been approved, On beinsg asking for the approval notice, he denayed giving me that. Of course he wants a biger pie out of my salary. Well that being apart, How can I find out when is My 140 approved. And If yes that How can I get a "duplicate" of the approval notice from the BCIS. The lawyer who filed my case will not help as I cannot talk to him unless Im on line with my employer,

Are there any mitigations that can occur if the 140 is not with me and I join a different emplyer.

But here are the Approx date & relevant info,

H1 expiring Feb 2004. ( 6 Year )
Labour Substituted.
140 Applied - May 2003 ( Boston , VSC)
485 Applied - Aug 2003 ( VSC) - I DO have the recepit of this.
AP Received
EAD pending 14 nov 2003 ND.

Enter your I-140 Receipt Number on the BCIS Case Status Online. Take a Print Out of your Approval Notice. That should do it..

You will NOT have any problems when you join a new employer. I-140 is a Company Document. Therefore they will NOT mail the Original to you...

The Printout from BCIS website should be enough....
 
I do not have the receipt number either!

Congratulations deenig2 for I-140. You are so lucky.

The USCIS site is showing the I-140 Processing date as Jan 15 2003. Wondering what we are missing. I hope I am that lucky like you. Mine is on Sep 16th 03. A long way to go. Or is it so? Can somebody advise...

Freedom of Information Act

You can request INS for all your documents under the Freedom of Information Act. They can hand you the copies of you Labor Cert, I 140 even your H1 details etc that are in their files. My friend did it and got like 120 pages of documentation from INS related to his case including the above mentioned documents. He said there was no charge for the service.

Hi, One employer is planning to use file my 140 using labor substition. I have my H1 extension receipt with me ( in process). Can someone tell what documents required to file I 140. Does it require valid H1(not just extension receipt). I am in my 6th Yr, H1 expiring Dec 04
 
deenig2, usually companies would give a photo copy of the I-140 approval notice. Try to request for one.
