How to get 140 approval notice from attorney

Hello All,
My 140 was approved recently. The approval notice was recd by the attorney as is the case. I requested them to send me a copy of the approval notice for my record keeping, the attorney's said that they cannot release the approval notice to me for record keeping and can only do in "certain circumstances" (undefined in their mail).

My question:
Do we need the 140 approval notice for anyapplications (EAD/AP) which I might file on my own?

Are there any other valid reasons which I could use to insist upon my asking.

OR
is it that one cannot retain a copy even of approval notice (understood that it is a company petition).

I have answered to this question in some other thread..


The only way I could get my I-140 information from my attorney was that before I went for iEAD (90 days afer EAD Receipt Date), I told my attorney that I went to the local USCIS office for my iEAD and they asked me to bring a copy of my I-140 receipt to verify before they issue iEAD. It worked and got a copy of my I-140 receipt notice.

Hopefully you can use this trick and see if it works!
