Actually the EAC # corresponds to the ND, not RD, even though the AVM says \'received on..\'. (They actually mean ND by that date).
The first 2 digits of the EAC # give the year. The years starts from Oct 1 of the previous calendar year, not Jan 1. The next 3 digits give the number of the working day starting from the start of the year, i.e. from Oct 1 that your ND falls on.
e.g., EAC 01 167 XXXXX means your ND is in year 2001, i.e., between Oct 1 2000 and Sept 30 2001, and your ND is the 167th working day starting from Oct 1 2000.
