How to find case is EB1 or EB2 ?

Hi Guys, Need a little help.

Immigration Lawyer of my company is on long disability leave.
another lawyer is yet to be appointed. meanwhile, How can I find that my case is EB1 or EB2 or EB3 ? Is this mentioned on a Receipt or where ?

RD : Jul 2002.
ND : Jul 2002.
FP : Sep 2002.
 
Sky_Drow, I asked my lawyer for category. I didn't receive I-485 receipt as these are held by lawyer so I asked for EB category and EAC number.

I have copy my I 485 receipt with me. You should keep a copy from lawyer. infact I would suggest to take a copy of your entire file from lawyer. anyways, thanks for your update. take care...

Unfortunately my lawyer is my company lawyer. I've asked for copies but been told they hold onto them. Fair enough, I suppose. I do have copies of everything I've sent to them.

Please keep in touch, because when you get approval that means almost my dates are nearer.

My RD is Jul 2002 and I really dont know wheather EB1 or EB2 does really matter. I calledup my lawyer and asked them to inform wheather my case is EB1 or EB2.

My doubt at this point is, if your case is EB2 and mine is EB3, Does it mean that, you will get approval well before me without the considering the fact of RD and ND !.

In my Receipt, it is mentioned that " it is taking between 360 to 540 days to process this kind of case " that is totally 18 months.

what could be the statement of EB1 catagory, will it be max. 12 months or what ?

w.r.t. july tracker , r u talking about rupnet, if yes, I will do today itself, if not, then Please let me know what are you talking about july tracker.

Once u r past filing I485, the category of EB1 r EB2 r EB3 doesn't matter, other than ofcourse the 'i am just unlucky' delay. The category matters only for LC sometimes and in the old days when PD was being considered.

Sky_Drow, if you look at the top of the page of the forum you will see "Tracker I-485 VSC" (or something similar). If you click there it will lead you to the tracking page. There is a tracker started by Ben12 for July filers. Please join us :)

Also, I think you can look on the BCIS website for the EB categories. I think mine is EB3. They are based on your educational experience and the field of your employment. I cannot remember them exactly but the BCIS website should have a good description.

I am going to join July Tracker. Final conclusion, EB2 or EB3 doesnt matter at this time of I-485 stage.
