These are questions for the gurus of this forum:

Is it possible to do fingerprinting (for I485) before
getting the fingerprinting notice from USCIS?
How can this be done? Do some ASCs allow early
fingerprinting and some don't?

Generally when USCIS sends a fingerprinting notice,
within how many days of it is one do fingerprinting?
10, 30 60, 90?

What happens if the fingerprinting appointment is
missed by a long time, say 90 days?

My wife is planning to travel abroad for 90 days.
I am worried what will happen if the fingerprinting
notice arrived two days after she leaves...

Is it possible to do fingerprinting at a consulate
office abroad?

Many thanks in advance for your replies.

i don't know other person, for my case, i got the notice at the end of Dec.
and first FP date is at the end of jan, and last FP date is in the early of March.

I can't see it being possible to do the FP without having a notice in hand. As far as going early, it depends on the ASC. I know in Atlanta, a lot of times they will turn you away and wait you make until your appointment date. This is especially true if they are busy. (Which a lot of ASCs seem to be as of late. I guess the USCIS is playing catchup finally)

The FP notices were all received about one month in advance of the appointment date for my family. Although, I'm guessing this will also depend on the ASC and their workload.

Finally, I believe, and correct me if I'm wrong anyone, if you don't show up for your appointment, they could consider your application abandoned. (You can contact the ASC and have them reschedule the appointment. We did that for my son as he had exams that day)

My FP notice indicated that if that day was not good for me, that I could show up any Wednesday after that for the next 2 or 3 months (I forget exactly).

I have read cases where people get their FPs done early and they pretty much don't count - they receive another notice and they must show up or their case is considered abandoned.
