How to Convert Counsal Processing to Adjustment of Status

can any one tell me how to convert an immigrant visa petition to adjustment of status that was initially filed for counsal processing. I converted my visa status from B2 to F1 student recently and I am waiting for immigrant visa petition filed in family based first prefrence some five years ago.

I am expecting that nvc will send me choice of agent form in a couple of months. Do I need to tell them that I want to go for i485 or just wait for my priority date and file i485 then.

I guess there is some kind of form as well that can be filed so that NVC will send my petition back to USCIS. Is that true?

Can I continue with consular processing steps that are before pd like filling DS 230 etc and in case I change my mind later on go for adjustment of status. I want to keep both options open.

While I was converting my visa status from B2 to F1 I mentioned in my letter of intenet that I might go for adjustment of status when my priority date becomes current.

hey, how did u convert from B2 to F1. Did you have any trouble doing it ? Also did your home country stamp the F1 Visa on your passport. Please share your experience. My cousin needs to do this immediately.
 
Hi, can you please post your priority date. My priority date under FB1 is November 2002 and I still have not received any choice of agent form. My file got transferred to NVC after approval. I am also here on F1 and plan to adjust when PD becomes current. I don't think we even need choice of agent form.
We do have a sticky thread "son over 21" where all people with FB1 and some other family based post their experiences. Please feel free to post you timeline and questions there.
