How to contact the Senator? Please help!

Steps to contact the senator

1. Find out who is your senator - if you already know this skip 1
Go to http://www.senate.gov/
there's a link to list the senators by state

2. Go to the senator's web page and look for contact

For Dianne Feinstein ( for Bay Area) go to

http://feinstein.senate.gov/casework.html

3. Print out the form and fill it up with your personal info
4. Send a certified letter with your signature.
5. Wait. (This should be familiar to all INS victims).

It takes about 3-5 weeks for them to process mail through the mail room. Then once processed it takes another 3 weeks (as of today) for the person responsible for INS assistance to actually send the request. Then they give INS 30 days to respond. So all around, worst case (which is usually the case for unfortunate people requesting senator help) is 5+3+4 = 12 weeks of wait before INS replies. Unfortunately INS might not reply immediately so you have to contact the senator to follow up. I suggest you do this on the phone.
