and in that case, u will be transferred to an operator. Give him/her the correct case no: Sometimes( around 8am EST in the morning) if you call, an operator will pick it up directly.

How to reach the operator at NVC:
When you call NVC at 603 334 0700, one of the following may happen:
0. The line is busy or NVC\'s computer systems are down - try again
1. An operator picks up the call - you are good to go.
2. You get a recording saying "... an operator will be with you shortly..." - wait for the operator
3. You get a recording saying "...thank you for calling NVC\'s automated...", and get options from the automated system - choose the following options (in order):
2 (for IV petition),
2 (fam / empl based petition),
3 (inquire about the status of a specific case)
2 (enter case number)
(three letters for consulate code, e.g, Montreal)
1 (to confirm above choice)
(enter your case number, or any ten digits)
1 (to confirm above choice)
0 (to speak to the operator)
