Folks,

I\'d like to contact my local congressman/senator regarding
my I-485 case pending at TSC since 1/2000. Please provide
any pointers that would help me do so.

Does it matter whether you contact a congressman or a senator?
What are the procedures that I must follow in contacting
such a person?

Regards,
Sudheer

You can contact either one of them

I contacted my local senator even that is not working. I think the attorneys might be the best bet. Because for my 2ND FP notice first I talked to the senator it did not work. Then I bugged my attorney get the FP notices, 15 days after he talked with the TSC, I got my FP notices.

I guess nothing works for sure

Sanathana,

I guess no one option works for sure. Some of us who are
dealing with enormous bad luck, have to try out all options
and hope one of them will work.

My lawyers are not helping very much. I got my 2nd FP notice
about 10 dats after I spoke to an IIO. That\'s why I started
believing the IIO\'s until today.

You know what I am faxing them every alternate day. I\'ll do that till I get some answer. I am doing this from 03/04/2002 till today I have not heard anything from the INS.

Any problems with contacting both senator & congressman

Are there any problems with contacting both the congressman
and a senator?

I contacted both the offices & seems like the senators office
may take a while to produce any impact. Still haven\'t gotten
enough information from the congressmans office.

If I send letters to both in this situation could that cause
any problems in future?

Nothing Happens

Reply to your FAxing I am Faxing between 9 & 10 in the morning. I can get thru the fax machine.

Contacting a Congressman/Senator will not harm your future. Even they do not do anything. They have Congressional Liason office at each service center and also a congressional phone line which they can talk easily and not waiting for hours be regular means.

When you contact a senator/congressman they in turn contact their liason office and they the service center. The service center will enter in the system that this case# is referred to a congressman and the service will update the case info to the liason office.

In this way it is easy to contact your senator office than the INS.
