How to check my B1 validity ???

Hi,

My last employer applied for my B1 and I got a multiple entry B1. As part of my resignation process, my last employer may have informed the US consulate to cancel my B1.

1. Is there any way to know the current status of validity of my B1 ?

2. If, my B1 is valid and if my last employer has informed the US consulate about my non-employment with them, can I go to US with the same B1 for some other employer ?

3. If my B1 is valid and my last employer has not informed the US consulate, then is it OK if I go to US for some other employer ?

Hi

Confirm if you have a B1 on your visa stamping page or a B1/B2. If you have a B1/B2 then you can travel with out the hastle of asking your employer. If you only have a B1 and the Annotation contains your employers name you cannot travel with that B1 because at the POE the Immigration officer will ask for a letter from the employer, which you will not be able to produce.

So you cannot travel on the old B1. There is no way out to find out whether your employer has informed the local consular post. Write to me for any clarification at menakarajendran@gmail.com
