My sister stayed for over a year on her B1/B2 Visa and left US to apply for H1 Visa at the US consulate in Italy. Her lawyer filled 1st extension and was approved for 6 months. 2nd extension was filled but no response from the INS were received even the receipt notification.
When my sister was interviewed at the US consulate in italy for her H1 application, the immigration is asking for the 2nd extension but all she has were the post office receipt. Her H1 application was denied and she was told that she can never go back to the US without the proof of her applying for the 2nd extension.
Were doubting that her lawyer did not file the 2nd extension. Our question is how do we check if her multiple visa is still valid. The immigration did not cros- out or cancel the Multiple B1/B2 on her passport. She is planning to come back for a visit soometime this year. Please help...
