How to check FP status?

Call your INS service center, enter the EAC# you received on the I485 receipt notice. The automated message should tell you something like "A finger print notice has been sent..."(not exact text I have entered here, but something on that line).
 
I checked the online status, it still says "Your I485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status was received ..."

I've renewed my EAD and the new card I got doesn't have finger print on it. Is it normal?

I called FBI and they told me they've already sent the finger print to INS...

What's happening here? Could it be possible that INS has lost my finger printing?
 
Usually, when the FP is sent by FBI to INS, within 2-7 days, the message will be changed. But knowing INS' efficiency(inefficiency?), I wouldn't be surprised if they have got your FP from FBI and haven't changed the message.

My suggestion: Call the INS and speak to a person. Check with your imm. attorney before doing this. These kind of discrepencies happen with INS so do not worry.

Changing employer doesn't affect the finger prints process.

Apart from the finger print appointment notice you have got in the mail, INS doesn't issue any other notice for that(means any approval notice for FP).
