i tried with the internet but can't get the census tract address, for e.g this census tract 12105015XXX but don't know how to get the physical address, can some help, hadron?

If you have a physical address for a practice location:

123 Doctors Row
Springdale, Kanbraska 06849

You go to

www.census.gov

click on 'your gateway to census200'

look for the two little crossing street signs and click on 'street address'

A search form will pop up. If you plug in the address you will get all the geographic descriptors you need for your NIW. County, 'minor civil division' (town/village/city) and census tract.

If you need street by street maps of the various census tracts (e.g. to show the department of health that your practice location in addition to being underserved itself has a 2 mile catchment area that encompasses mostly underserved census tracts), you can go to the mapserver of the census bureau.

http://ftp2.census.gov/geo/maps/blk2000/

The maps are a bit awkward to use, you have to download them one by one as .pdf files and waste a lot of printing paper until you have an actual representation of the geography you are looking for.

Dear Hadron ,
is there a way to do it the other way round, suppose i have the census tract number that qualifies for HPSA , can i put it in search and can i get the physical address from it
thanks

I don't think there is a function in the database to do this. If you know what state/town/county that CT is in, you could download the maps at the link I provided and look it up that way.

Why would you want to do the search that way around ? If you find out that this CT describes unsettled farmland, are you going to put a mobile home out there to fulfill your waiver ?

as hadron mentioned, u could look up the area map for every census tract
you could enter any of the street intersections on a yahoo maps and look up the zip code for the area ..if thats what u want.
Each census tract is a very small area..u could get a good glimpse from the maps on the website.
