Hi all! this is my first post and obviously, being a member of other
forums, I searched before posting a repeated question...I'm just
trying to find out the following:
If you are a J1 holder (came to the US for Grad School with home
country Gov't funding), how do you change your visa to H1 if you are
subject to section 212e?
Here's why: A US employer offered me a job here (enineering field) and
I can start working for them right now since I'm in OPT but my J1 visa will expire on Dec 2005. After that, in order to continue working I'd assume I'll
need another visa...what are my options? I know the employer would take care of the new visa, but what about the HRR?
