How soon do i get bio results?

i am now adjusting my status. for years i have wanted to be a Sunday school teacher, but they have a policy of not letting people work w/o being fingerprinted from the FBI. so you some of the best talent is goingt o waste.

the system the church uses has a cost of $35 dollars. sometimes one has to pay it or the church pays for it. i would like to save those $35 and not do the thing again.

or should i do it anyway just in case the bio runs into trouble oe delays and i can then show that i came back clean with the church background? and would any red flags go up if the FBI sees two checks?

so is there any way for me to get a copy of the bio/letter saying i am clean and give it to my church? or should i just take the background check once again? thank you.

Inquisitor - glad to hear you are going to try to do AOS ! The USCIS doesn't send any "results", per se, after you have your biometrics. They just send you out with the NOAs you take in showing you've been fingerprinted. At least that's how it worked for my husband. I don't know about name check and background check since I've had no status updates on our case, but I'd assume if you get approved for status change you can rightly assume you've passed ;) Someone who has been that far in the process can advise you better on that. At least, I think that's what you were asking ?

but status change will take a while. and i assume that the noa letter will say i took it, not say i passed it. then again, if the fbi isn't paying me a visit, there wasn't a problem. and when will i get this letter? if it is soon, i will take and perhaps won't need to take it. thank you.

Just pay the $35. You won't get anything back from your FP apart from a reciept stamp on the appointment letter. Sure, getting a green card *infers* that the FBI doesn't have problem with you, but then again maybe they check for different things for USCIS than they would for the Sunday School.

sunday school usually checks to see if you have a pedophiler background or something...cuz i think you have to work with kids right? well even if you're teaching adults, the fp for sunday school will entail something usually more local. i know that if you want to be a teacher (regular, like in high school) you have to go and do your fp and all they want to know is that your not in the sex predators registry. so pay the $35. the FBI will not send you anything back and their check might also be different.

yes, working with kids. and they say is a fbi check. and one would hope that the biometric check has the same and more levels than the church check. yes, will go for it. if the noa comes, will take it and see what happens. if i have to do it again, great . if not, great.

i have a clean criminal record. nothing. if the church report comes bad with something for some reason, i will be able to see what it is and fix the error before the interview. both checks will come back clean. but just in case there is an eror in the system, i might actually be able to know about it and fix it before the interview. know what immigration knows and be ready for an answer or explanation if the incident is minor. but again, i am clean. so both should come back clean.

The biometrics done as part of your AOS has nothing to do with the requierements from your Sunday school. Even in both they are going to take your fingerprints. People who work with kids, depending in each State it's a must or not will be fingerprinted. The requierements from your Sunday school has nothing to do with your AOS process, people who study here and part of their program is working with kids, get fingerprinted as well.

Do not confuse what is the requierement for your work and what is a requierement for your AOS process. You won't received anything back from the FBI due to your AOS process, because even if you are paying for it the one who are asking those results is not you, is USCIS as part of the process for your adjustment of status.

So you anyway will have to do that fingerprint for your Sunday school requirement.
