How soon can one work after marrying an American?

I thought it was as soon as you receive your temporary residence status paper work. About 3 months. Is that correct?

You don't have to wait a rediculous amount of tiem like a year do you?

Can it be immediate in some cases?

When you apply for greencard, apply for a temporary employment card, which USCIS promise to get to your in 45-90 days, while waiting for the processing of your greencard application. So, technically, in 3 months.

No sir, nothing is immediate with bureaucracy, otherwise we will call USCIS a McDonald Citizenship and Immigration Service... Also, a lesson for you: Don't rush a bureaucracy, especially one called USCIS, it will punish you for a long time with their blunders, bloopers and outright stupid requests....

One such as request: Bring a death deer head to your interview in observerance of the deer hunting week.... If you fail to honor such a request, denial of your application and immediate deportation to Suriname.... So, thread carefully and submit all applications with relevant and ONLY requested evidence. Submitting your prom photo though a nice idea, could land you in hot water... examining officer was banned from prom for burning down the lab....

But yes, if you applied for work authorization then like in 3 months (before that you will receive an appointment for biometrics and fp - the picture that they take is the one that will appear in your work permit and in your residency card).

When you have your interview and submit your privacy invading info does the USCIS care about someone's work history or level of income and things like that? Do they ask to see Canadian income tax papers and such? What finiancial stuff do they go through? Or do they just do a criminal check etc. When I was in high school I was arrested for fighting lol Would that affect anything ?
