Can anyone please guide me since there is no Vermont Service Center Phone service, how should I update the address?

Also, I asked the officer at 1-800 # and she told that I should hear about my case sometime in July-Aug.

Thanks

Fill AR11 form and send it to KY address, then send a certified mail to VSC, giving all your details :

Name
A #
copy of 485 receipt
Old address
New address

Hope this should be ok.

Thanks so much for the info, just a last question, if I have updated the address at BCIS by calling them; is that all...or there is something else I am supposed to do?

FYI, I asked them about my case and they said that it would take 4 more months to reach my case.

Moved and changed job after 180 days, should I change processing center according??

Hi, all

I filed I485 Nov. 2002, and I may want to change job this summer. It means I will move form NJ to Texas.

1) Should I notify the INS and change the processing center from VSC to Texas center? or jut file the address change and let it be?

2) Just assume that I got a interview letter in Newark, I could fly back to interview, but with new job in texas, will that be a problem? or after I filed address change, my file will be change to Texas center automatically by INS?

3) Now I hold EAD card, when change new job, should I use EAD card or file a new H-1B.

appreciate any response!!

Is informing BCIS about address change on phone enough to update address or we need to fill out some form also?

Thanks

Call them after a couple of days to confirm your new address . In my case it was not updated the first time .

485GCCase, you have to mail AR11 form to Kentucky (address is on that form and you can download the form at the BCIS website).

Is it mandantory to also call VSC and inform them about new address? As far as I know they are going to disconnect their phones soon. Also, is it mandantory to mail a duplicate AR11 to VSC?

MiaoMiao, I am in a similar situation like you - I want to switch jobs but this would involve a move from one service center region to another. Right now I am thinking about two scenarios of handling this, please let me know your thoughts (I assume that you thought about the same issues long and hard and I would like to know which approach you think is better, all other opinions are welcome too of course).

My approval should be not too far away, here are two options:
1) Take new job, file AR11 with Kentucky and VSC at the very end of 10 days, but do not inform of AC21 use unless RFE is issued or case is transferred. (it is not required to inform about AC21, as far as I know, unless that has changed recently).

2) Like above scenario with only exception to send letter stating use of AC21 rule to VSC (together with AR11 form).

It is required by law to mail AR-11 form to Kentucky within 10 days of moving. You don't have to update VSC especially you hired a lawyer to handle your I-485. All documents will be forwarded to the attorney except for plastic card. Once you get your approval, update the address at local INS office when stamping or when you renew your EAD, give the new address on the I-765 form.

I had sent out the AR-11 form to the KY address, and was told by the lawyer that they had called up the IIO to confirm it. Inspite of that, my approval letter came all right at the new address, but my spose's letter went to the old address. Luckily the post office forwarded that mail. Two days ago I received the original approvals too from the lawyer.
