Hi Shah -

The following are my case details:

We received your application for permanent residence on October 12, 2001.

We started processing your application on October 23, 2001.

A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.

Medical results have been received.

The interview was in Jan 2003, received the medical papers feb 2003, got letter to submit the passport in May 2003.

Please let me know if I can answer any more questions.

BTW, I am working in Singapore. I am citizen of India.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Sakkark. Some more questions.

Thanks Sakkark,

I have interpreted that Oct 2001 to Jan 2003. Almost 1 year 3 months from File # received to Interview Date in Singapore case.

Well, I have also Canada as well as USA permanent immigrant status. For almost last 1 year, I have both status. I am staying in Chicago right now. and I know few friends in Toronto also. I have been to Toronto and applied for SIN # in Sept 2002.

I posted my Canada as well as USA embassy experience and Canda landing experience on this site under my user name.

Well, you have any idea in which criteria Singapore Embassy waived interview ??? If points are 80+ OR English IELTS 7 bands mark ?? French language knowledge helps any how, how and what to do for that ?? you did medical in India or Singapore ?

Thanks again for your help.

Hi Shah -

I am sorry I have no idea what the criteria to waive the interview. I will post if I come across someone who got their interview waived.
I did my medical in Singapore.

BTW, I got my visa stamped on May 20th 2003.

Good Luck!

Hi jhumkasrc -

I got my police certificate from Indian High Commission in singapore. It took me around 1 week to get my certificate. If you want I can go and apply for you in the Indian Highcommission if you give me the details.
Otherwise, following in the high commission details in singapore:
The High Commission of India
India House
31, Grange Road,
Singapore 239702.

Fax : + 65- 67326909

Take Care and Good Luck!

Thanks so very much !

Hi Sakkark,

Thanks a lot ! And really appreciate your so generous offer to help !

Could you please help clarify a doubt I have ? I thought that one needs to get the Police certificate from the corresponding country's Police Authorities. But I heard you say you got it from Indian High Commission in Singapore. How is this possible ? Is it that the Indian High commision gets it from the Police on your behalf ?

Best Regards

Hi jhumkasrc -

I am sorry, I misunderstood your question. I had to get one from Singapore and one from India.

Anyway, you should be able to get a police certificate from the Singapore Consulate in US. I know there is one in chicago and one in Washington D.C. You should be able to call them and ask them on how to get a police certificate for the dates you were in Singapore.

The website address is :
http://www.mfa.gov.sg/washington/

Hope it helps.

Thanx.

Thank you !

Hi Sakkark,

It really does help a lot ! I'll go about phoning the Singapore embassy now.

Best Regards

It is recommended to give IELTS

Visit:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/skilled/qual-3.html

----
Language ability documentation

If you are claiming language skills on your application, you must provide conclusive proof of your language skills. You must choose one of two options to do this. You can:

1. take a language test by an approved organization; or
2. provide other written documentation that supports your claim.

We strongly recommend that you take a language test from an approved organization if you are claiming skills in a language that is not your native language.
----

I think it is worth to visit DC once to assure, your points. Once you have result of IELTS in your hand, then those points are 100% assured. Otherwise, you will be having imaginary language calculation, and you will be dependent on assessing CIC officer to assigning language marks to you.

IELTS's sure result can help your case to waive interview also.
