How much time from my PD becoming current to I-485 approval ?

Hi all,

I have an approved I-140 (over 2 years ago), applied for my I-485 since July/Aug 2007 and an EAD/AP in my hands. I have completed my biometrics with the USCIS local office a couple of months ago.

My priority date is in November 2001 and my labor application was filed in EB3 category.

Given the speed with which the EB3 category is moving (and assuming it doesn't retrogress - which I know it could), my PD could become current by May 2008.

What I want to know is that, if it does become current, how long is the typical process beyond that till I get a stamping on my passport for the Green card that will allow me to travel and to work ?

I am sure there are others out there whose dates have recently become current - people whose PDs were in, say, June/July 2001. Can any of those guys (or someone who knows of such people) tell me how long it is to get to the stage where I will get the passport stamping done ? If they haven't yet reached that stage, what else has transpired in between ?

Many thanks in advance.

A.

PS: I do know about the other possibilities - getting a request for information on application from the USCIS, getting a name check done and getting stuck in that process and so on. What I am looking for is a time period from the PD becoming current to the passport stamping for the GC being done, if no other problems come up.
