They generally says 2 weeks but might get within one week . Generally when u apply for it , they will give u a time frame and u can expect to get within that time .

In some places after few days u can call them and get your number before u receive the physical card , but now a days many places dont tell the no on phone for security reasons.

You may ask the SSN office where u are applying the time frame and whether they are willing to tell u the number over the phone/personal visit .
