please guys can you tell me how much it cost to hire a lawyer from the time I fill the asylum application until the interview.
I know it depends on man things..the state..the lawyer..the case..ect
but I just want to know how much would it cost on average
tell me from your past experience
thanks a lot

around 5000 for asylum filing and interview. if you get NOID, add another 2500. if you get referred to a judge, add another 5000. just about!

try it by your self if you can't afford attorney. (2k - 3k for Asylum office, 3k - 6k for court representation)

get AILA's Asylum Primer: a practical gudie to US asylum law and Procedre: by Regna Germain.
In the CD that comes with this book, you will find sample asylum declaration .pdf format and many more.
That was enough for me .....

really worth it... having a lawyer for the asylum case will lessen the chances of getting NOID and referred to IJ

paying $3000 to a lawyer for an asylum case is much better than to seek a lawyer after getting a denial from USCIS "which could end up paying $8000 plus the time it will take"

Guys I really didnt know it is that expansive. My lawyer cost me 5000 for my mom and sister and they had hearing in court.

ok guys, thank you all for replying

but Raziel I have two questions

1-you said I might find a free lawyer..can you give me more information abt that??

2-how can the lawyer increases your chances of getting approved? I mean does he have any influence on the officer..or he just give you confidence during the interview??

1- As for the free lawyers... there are organizations that can help, you can find a lawyer by googling "pro bono lawyer" and it depends on the state you live in.

2- A lawyer would certainly increase your chances in winning your case by presenting your case in the most appropriate "professional" way to the asylum office, a lawyer will guide you how to focus your answers on what is more important to the asylum officer.

In my interview, which lasted for few minutes, I was assked a question "a Yes or No question" and I said No instead of Yes, the lawyer noticed that and he interrepted me saying that "pay more attention to the question", he explained the question to me more "although I think he is not allowed to" and I corrected my answer.

I don't know if it is true or not, I beleive the presence of a lawyer will have a slight influence on the officer, being "sponsered" by a lawyer has its effect. Asylum Officers are well trained and tested before given this posion but still they are humans, maybe I'm wrong but still a lawyer is an important factor in the asylum case. better safe than sorry.

Thanks a lot Raziel for your very helpful information you gave.

And, Congrates for your final approval man.

thanks again
