How Much Did Your Medical Exam Cost, and Which Vax Will I Need?

I know it can differ, but I'm just interested to hear what people have paid.

I have my medical on Sept 14th - he said the exam is $115, with another $35 for the TB test (I think) and $85 that will be be mailed as a separate bill from the lab for the bloodwork processing.

So far the only vax record my doctor back home (UK) has is a tetanus back in 1999. They said their records don't go that far back any more (because I am an ancient 32 year old and vaccinations had only just been invented back when I was getting them).

My mum is going to some central medical records place to see if she can get anything else for me.

I know I had the MMR at school when I was 15 as all the girls had it, we had to leave class in pairs to go and get it.

And I had the BCG (tuberculosis) when I was 12 in school as well - again, the whole class had it. I still have the scar on my arm where it emitted pus for weeks afterwards - but no written proof of having had it.

So what vax will I need? And what did you pay for them?

The doctor will determine which shots you need based on your age and gender and the records of which shots you've had before and how long ago you had them and which diseases you've actually had. Ask the doctor, not people on an anonymous message board.

Mine was $310 total. For physical, blood work and 1 shot I needed (that prevents cervical cancer) I had every other shot that was taken in Canada when I was in school.
Women between 16 - 26 yrs require the cervical cancer shot. Only the 1st of 3 though.
