Hello All,

I am stuck in name check process and so was my wife. I am contemplating how long I should wait before filing WOM. We had done the same thing for my wife almost a year ago. She was waiting for naturalization for 2 and a half years. Her case was stronger. Now, I am waiting for AOS.

Now, Do I have to show a pressing need for this WOM? What happens if I don't have a very urgent need? (Even though b/w us - I want to out of this shit hole)

How long should I wait for making my case strong, just so you know - my interview took place a month ago. So, its not that long.

Last, how many people have actually filed themselves in similar situation and won?

Can people share their winning cases on this forum?

Thanks everyone for their time

Surprising that no one wants to share any thoughts on this.. anyone who has sucessfully filled Mandamus or know anyone who has filed such a case..

what are the odds here?

I think that at this stage you would not have much of a case for filing WoM. For WoM to be successful (assuming it goes to court) the judge has to agree that the agencies involved have taken an unreasonable amount of time to process your case. As you are at about the six month stage I would think it is unlikely that a judge would agree at this point.

I personally have been told by two attorneys that two years is the recommended wait time before filing although another poster told me that one year is OK. I have also been told that it is harder to get the case through for AoS than for naturalization.

Good luck with your case.
Jim
