Can anyone tell my how many days it takes to receive the Recipt Notice after sending the 485 papers to INS ?.

Thanks,

Anyone hearing ?

Actuall I saw the rupnet posts. Lot of people had same RD and ND dates. So that means INS sends the Receipt Notice on the same day they receive the papers.

I also want to know, who gets the receipt notice. Company, Lawyer or beneficiary.

I will really appriciate you help.

Receipt Notice

Gauri,

In my case it took 2 months to get Receipt notice. But that was the time when Anthrax scare was there. However 1 month from sending your packet is normal.

As you said it is quite possible that INS enters the data same day they receive the package - so RD and ND may be same.

If you have a lawyer only he gets receipt notice. Not you. You get courtesy copies only for finger print and approval. because both the cases you have to go personally to INS office. No other communication comes to you .

Actual Receipt notice is received by lawyer about 5-10 days from Notice date. Check RD and ND in Rupnet. You will get an idea what is the average difference between RD & ND now-a-days.

Reciepts normally get to you in a week or two nowadays...
if you check also the processing times for this month, they talk about mail, data entry and so forth...you will see if they have backlog in entering your application into the system. Just hang in there, you'll get your receipts.

Thank you for your help.

Taurus02 and Jagn97, thank you very much for your replies.

I am very new to this board and like the way everyone is helping each other to keep the hope alive.

I am working in a different company than company which filed for I-485 using the more than a year old I-140 approval.

Is there anyone who can share the experience or has the similar situation ?. Is is valid to Use the older I-140 which is in my name and appliying for I-1485 while working is different company ?.

Thank you very much.

Anyone please reply my post...

I was surprised to not to find my thread which I wrote approx. same time when Habbi's post started. No wonder, it could not withstand against Habibi's post.

It took me time to find my thread, I think it went on to the last page. Should I have left that it would have gone out of the board by LRU rule.

I would appreciate if you can clear my doubts.

Thanks,

Gauri
