Hi Guys,

I had my interview for Asylum 3 weeks ago and I am waiting on a decision.
I was just wondering how long it takes for a decision to be made?
And also how long did it take you guys to get a decision?

BTW because I live more than 200 miles from the Asylum Office, my decision will be sent by mail. :(

Thanx.

I got in the mail a "recommended for approval" notice like four weeks after the interview. Good luck

Granted

I was finally granted Asylum by an Immigration Judge last week. During the hearing I got to read what the Asylum Officer wrote about my case and I was shocked to find out that she didnt take the time or effort to look at my case. I guess she had made up her mind the moment she saw that I fear persecution due to my sexual orientation.

Anyways the IJ saw that the AO's assement of my case was qestionable and didnt give it any merits to the case. I had extensive corroborative evidence to back up my cliam; so my case was granted and the BCIS reserved an appeal.

I am just happy that the AO is not the final say in these cases because some of them are questionable to say the last.

:)
