how long will it take for bcis to receive fp?

I did my fingerprint on 4/15 but the bcis online message still says "On March 19, 2003, we mailed a notice requesting that you appear for fingerprint recording...." my wife's on-line message changed to "fp received" 2 days after her fp.

Is it normal that the on-line message does not update after 1 month? Usually how long does it take for bcis to receive the fp results and update the on-line message?

rama, take your fp notice and a photo ID (e.g. passport, driver license). the whole process takes about 30 mins.
 
Before panicing, I would first check AVM and make sure that INS hasn't received FP check from FBI. The online case status is notorious for being flaky and on occasion hasn't been updated on time.

Then I would try to call the FBI help line to see if they have transmitted the check results to INS. After which you go behind INS.

As "140_takes_4ever" suggested check AVM first, there is a 60% chance that it is updated. If it is not updated yet, then call FBI to check if your FPCheck went fine and there is no problem with your FPs. Mostly FBI will say that they are fine and they sent the result back to BCIS on the same day or the next. If it is the case you don't need to worry about any thing. If you are still worried then you should talk to IIO to make sure that every thing is fine.
