Did you file your I-485 through your immigration attorney ? If so, USCIS mailed the I-485 receipt to your attorney. This is done when you file for Form G-28 (Notice of Entry of Appearance as Attorney or Representative) along with I-485. This form is your consent to have him/her represent you before USCIS.
