how long will change of address delay the process?

I'm already stuck in name check. I had my interview in March, and it has already been 120th day about 10 days ago. I'm frustrated with the process along with the fact that I can't move. However, I can't just sit here and wait for something that could possibly take up to a few years (according to some people on this forum anyway)

So, I was wondering how long will it delay the process even more if I were to move right now and file a change of address. I know there isn't a definite timeline as none of USCIS processes do, but if someone could guess or at least give a rough period, how long would it be?

As a note, my lawyer suggested me not to move until I get my residency.

A distinction should be made between moving within your current DO jurisdiction vs moving to a new DO. If you stay with the same DO, I doubt you'd be affected too much. Moving to a new DO, well who knows then.

That's exactly what I was gonna say. If it's with your same DO it doesn't make any difference (unless they don't update your address and your notices go to your old address) BUT with a different DO I think it would affect the wait time. But I don't know how much since you're already in the namecheck step of the process. I remember that before starting the process we talked to a lawyer since I was still going to school in MA (boston DO) and my husband was already working in CT (hartford DO) and I was gonna move there after graduation. We were going to apply to the Boston DO but the lawyer said that the process of changing our address could add up to a year to the process!!
