How long until ead card

got email saying that my ead got approval and "we ordered you a new card. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready."

how long does that take? days? weeks? months? any experience? and i see that some people take a week or months until they get an actual social security. when can i go and get a number? can i go the day i get the ead card? and how soon cna i get a job? if there is a place that hires people on the spot, can i get that job the day i get the card? do let me know and thank you.
 
thank you. and how soon after will it be valid? can i get a job the day i get the card? this took me by surprise because an rfp said i was to wait 90 days after they got the info they wanted. and that would be in november. i must say my case if going a bit fast and maybe even soon i will get the interview.

i have yet to get a car, but this will make a huge diffrence in buying it.
 
My card was marked as valid from the day it said on the email. You can actually get work before you have the card, as you are currently work authorised based on your approval email. When you sign an I-9 your employer should accept that notice as proof you are employment authorised, and you will be required to show the actual EAD within 90 days of siging the I-9. Of course, whether an employer actually allows you do to this is another matter and really based on how much they know about EADs and how they work.
