There is 180 day rule in I-485 which starts from filing of I-485. Can it be applied to CP as well? Are we safe to change jobs 6 months after filing CP? Or anytime after getting GC? Or 6 months after getting GC?
The basis for your GC is a "Permanent Employment" with the same employer. This is widely believed to be ATLEAST one year after getting GC. So unless situations change substantially both Employer and Employee are obliged to keep the permanent employment.
The 6 month portability law applies only to AOS processing.
