How long to get the offical green card after it has been approved?

For approving 485 cases, INS taking more than 18 months. So, printing a plastic card would take them atleast 4 years. Most difficult job for them.

Hi,
The whole process is extremely long............INS adds grief to it by taking atleast 6 months to 18 months just for the plastics card. The secretary of state only takes upto 2 weeks on the plastic card for driver\'s license!! If the applicant changes their rsidence in the whole process and the plastic card is lost, the applicant have to pay the fees and apply for the replacement card again......what a mess...what a system....
Hope they will step up to the plate in this century itself...
