How long the Medical is good for??

Can you please tell me how long is the Medical we have to provide for I-485 is good for??? Now with retrogression issues I wonder if I have to redo it again at some point.

medicals are good for 2 yrs from the issued date.
I have no idea whether we need to take them again,cause of retrogression.

I keep hearing different timeframes. I also got a version of 18 months and 12 months before too. That's why I wanted to ask... Wish we can find an official note on it somewhere on the CIS website or somewhere.

12 months according to my lawyer and the physician that did my medical. I also recall reading 12 months on the medical page on the USCIS website. I would plan on the medical expiring after 12 months if I were you.

I am not one of those experts but here is my two cents:

The 12, 15 (or however many months) they are referring to is the time between your medical and your FILING of I485. As long as you file I485 and take your medical approximately the same time (in theory within the X months, but you don't want to wait that long to file I485), you will be fine. I know people who got their I485 approval after 2-3 years and they didn't have to re-take their medical.

Waitingdood, are you saying the medical only needs to be vaild at the time you SUBMIT it to CIS, and if afterwords you have to wait forever, the medical won't expire? that would be good, if it's true.

In principle it should only be valid for x months after filing. however, I don't think CIS asks you to re-take your medicals. if you think about it, most people get their I485 after it has been pending for at least one year, but you don't ever hear anyone re-do their medicals.

The medical used to be have a validity date attached to it even after 485 is filed - but if i remember correctly, they moved away that provision sometime in 2001 or 2002. now it should be valid until your case has been adjudicated.
