How long should I wait

Hi Folks

On the 11th of August last year my case was approved by USCIS. Around November I was invited to come to the US embassey for the interview. I went there and the interview took place, I was asked several question corcerning the relationship between me and my dad who has filed case, then I was taken to the consuler officier who also asked me a couple of questions but not really anything meaningful. At the end fingerprints were taken and I had to give my signture for several forms.

I waited a few weeks then I called up the embassy and asked them how long it is going to take them. I was told around 2 months then I would know if I can go or not.

Now 9 months have passed since I was interviewed and still I have no answer from the embassey, I called and wrote many letters to them but still no answer. The only thing the embassey staff tells me, is that the case is being processed somewhere in Washtington which they have no influence over.

So Im wondering if it is normal to wait that long to get the travelling papers to the US, because I have got only 3 months left of my health check-up.
