How long... (Re: RFE)

How long does it take for your case to be resumed after you send back an RFE? Will there be a way to tell it's been resumed?

Thanks again

Do either of you, or anyone else for that matter, know how I can tell if the case has been resumed?

We mailed our response to RFE on 9/19 and on 9/27 an LUD showed up stating that our response had been received and case resumed.

Same here. I don't think they post it on website if they are SENDING the RFE, but they will when they receive it. Give it a couple of days and it'll be resumed :)

That is correct.

Except, sometimes their online system is messed up and they do not post anything at all :p

I think they do sometimes. When I entered my I-485 case number on Sep 20th it showed a message saying :

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: We mailed you a notice requesting additional evidence.

On September 20, 2007, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence and/or information in this case. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the evidence and/or information requested. This case will be held in suspense until we either receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once you submit the information and/or evidence requested, you will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something further from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service.

I guess not everyone gets that message. Which may be better in fact since I did not know what it was and had to wait a week to actually get the letter and know exactly what it was.

JNJ, from what I have seen on people's timelines, if sent express, next day, they can update in around 5 business days from date of receipt and resume a case.

I sent in my RFI and they never responded. I just kept on calling them. I received my ead and appointment letter without ever getting a notice that my case had been resumed

Well, i just remembered, I didn't have access to my I-485 case online when they sent out my RFI. I was only able to access it when they resumed my case :p

It didn't take any minute tio get my case resumed. They send me REF for the same reason you have now, and they didn't put this on the website.

I called them many time to see if they resumed the case, and they told me they didn't request REF from me, and my case is still in process.

Who knows what was going on... !

Is your case affected in any way by an RFE? Is the process delayed?

In case you are asking about my EAD, or Interview letter or these stuff.... It didn't affect anything. I received my EAD in less than 90 days, although I changed my address.
So, keep your spirits up, I have a feeling that you will receive it on time.
