In Jul-06, my brother and his family received 10 years of multiple entry US Visitors’ visas. But due to unforeseen family emergency, they may not be able to travel for another year.

If they decide to travel after more then a year of visa issue date, will it be valid or they will have to get a new visa again?

Thanks,
Aks

My parents got their 10 year tourist visa in May 05. My mom came here in 05 for 4 months. However, my dad did not come at that time. Now they both are planning to come here in early 2007. Someone told them that my dad may have to get another visa as he must travel within 4 months of visa stamping for first time. I know its weird and all the posts say otherwise.

I still want to double check and make sure he do not need another visa. Can someone share their experience?

Thanks.

not true. That statement holds true for only for H1 F1 and J1 or other employment or Education based visas.
For B1/2 as long as the visa is valid you can use it to travel.

My dad visited almost 2 yrs after he was issued the visa and had no problems.
