Hi freinds:
I filed my I-140 and I-485 concurrently at California Service Center( My employer is located at). But I got a finger print notice from Nebraska. I guess they transferred my I-485, I-765 to Nebrakska because I live in Midwest for now. I will like to have a receipt for my I-765 in case I need to walk to the local INS for an EAD after 90 days application. I filed my application a month ago. Still, no recipt yet. Anyone can tell me how long it will take to get a receipt for I-765 and I-485 from Nebraska Service Center?
Thanks for in advance for helps!

Joe
About 6 weeks is the max that you need to wait.

If you filed using an attorney, check with them as the receipts go to them directly.

I don't know how much time it generally takes, but i did get mine in 2 weeks. Actually my lawyer got it & faxed it to me.

Yup - the general average time to get the receipt is about 3 wks.
(which is why I think the OP should not wait more than 6 wks max)

And yes - it goes to your attorney.

Joe,

It is commen to receive FP notice from the service center closest to you. This happened to me also. This does not mean that your file has been transfered to NSC. Your cases are still pending the CSC, and they will not transfer files without letting you know. You still need to track your case through CSC.

Great! Thank you all for your nice help! Your answers helped me a lot!

I think INS always send one copy of receipt to my attorney, and a copy for me. Am I right? or they just send a copy to my attorney.

Thanks again!

Joe

Thank you all for your helps. Your guys are right. I did get a copy of receipt from my attorney today. And the case is still in California Service Center.
Have a good Thanksgiving!

Joe
