How long it takes to receive EAD?

The online status for my EAD application just changed to saying:

"On June 27, 2003, after approving your application, we ordered a new card. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready."

Could anyone please advise me approximately how long it would take for me to receive my card? I have a job that wants me to start on the 7th, and was wondering whether I would get my EAD card by then?

Also, do I have to have my EAD card to begin my job, or would the approval notice be sufficient?

ND: 04/14/03
Approval: 06/27/03
 
You shall have it in 2 weeks time - keep checking the OL status and once it says your card has been mailed approx a week's time.

BTW does anyone have an update as to whats happeniong at NSC for 485??/
we have been stuck at Aug 22, 2001 for over 6 months:confused:
